Cameron and I talked and he thought it a good idea if we would share some of the parenting experiences. So, L and I are going to start a Mommy and Daddy Diary. This way all of you can keep up with the parents.

Being a new parent is quite the life changing experience. No matter what your friends, family or acquaintances say there is nothing that prepares you for the experience. That being said, one of the most interesting aspects of parenting a newborn is the Bowl Movement cycle or BM. Having a BM is crucial to assessing your child’s health. We’ve been watching Cameron’s BM like a hawk because of his size his demand for milk was beyond the capacity of our resources. Therefore we had to put him on a mix of breast milk and formula. This combination has totally stopped his BM cycle.

So, L and I sit and talk about his BM, how long has it been since his last one, what we should do to encourage one. Heck, we even have a chart of his BM. Now, this isn’t such a big deal for the already established parent but for us newbies, man, it’s just strange. In addition to the charting, lengthy discussion and general interest in poop, you have never seen two grow adults so happy to see a runny liquidly substance similar to spicy brown mustard come out our son. When he goes it’s like 4th of July, fireworks, cheering and coo cooing.

Have we lost our mind?
