Now that Cameron is 3 months old we’ve been able to venture out more and more. This weekend he got his first experience in the swimming pool. Not that I’m bias or anything, but he seemed to take to it extremely well, and did very well for his first time in a pool.
Cameron is also starting to sit up more and more. Some friends of ours loaned us their Bumbo chair. If you haven’t seen these things they’re pretty cool. L says that he can only sit in the chair for 3 minutes at a time and watch him for fatigue. But he looks soo cute in it!!
Here’s a video of Cameron in his Chair
Oh, by the way, if you’re reading this he’s outgrown almost all his 6mo clothes and is WAAAY past 3mo clothes. We’re now trying him in 9mo clothes just to see if they fit!
We’re a little late on this one but it’s a goodie! Cameron is now 12 weeks old but not 3 months, go figure that! He ever changing and developing in ways that are amazing! He’s now getting to the point where he really likes to talk and interact with you. L took him to the Doctor last week and he weighs in at 17Lbs and got his second round of shots. This time around they weren’t as traumatic as last months when after he got 4 shots he was inconsolable.
We did find out that he does have acid reflux problems and we’re having a time trying to get him to feed on the second breast. But L is so ingenious and patient that she has found a way to get him to feed without having to put him on medication. We both feel it’s a little too early to be on medication if we can at all avoid it!
He also really likes to sit on the sofa and “pow wow” with Dad! Here’s the video!
This week Cameron got to make some new friends during the Mommy’s Meet Up group that Laura has started. Some moms from around the neighborhood have come together to meet once a week and make friends, share stories and socialize the little ones. It’s really a great opportunity for Laura to interact with adults and share stories with likeminded people.
This week he’s also started engaging us in conversation. When he’s in his “happy Chair” he looks around for someone and starts cooing at us. It’s really quite a site. One you have his attention he just loves to talk and talk and talk. His eyes are also starting to turn brown. Laura says he has his daddy’s eyes but I’m not sure at the moment whose eyes he has.
At 10 weeks old Cameron is starting to become more like a real person. That may sound strange but for those of us who have children I think it will make sense. He now has a little light in his eye, a twinkle, and his personality is beginning to really shine through. He smiles at you and really, I mean really, looks at you. I think when he looks at us now he‘s beginning to understand who we are. Like there is Mommy and there is Daddy. And of course, when he smiles at you it just melts your heart.
One of the best times we have with Cameron is during his “Tummy Time”(TM). Now, he didn’t always like TM but now that we know how to do it right, never knew there was a right or wrong way, he seems to be enjoying it a lot more. He’s just so strong it really is amazing to see his development change so quickly!
A lot has happened since the 7 week mark, almost too much to remember. He changes so fast now we can barely keep up. Cameron’s most notable change is his vocalization and ability to focus on things. Although he’s not forming words or anything he definitely is trying to communicate. In addition to that, he now weights 15 lbs and is over 2 feet long. At Cameron’s 8 week mark we had one of the best times. It was the 4th of July weekend and we simply had an excellent first 4th of July with Cameron.
As this video shows he really like to talk! He is an order of magnitude more alert and while sitting in his bouncy chair or laying in his jungle gym he now looks at you in the eye, smiles and starts this series of voices and yelps. It’s very cute.
This week was also 4th of July weekend and we absolutely had a blast. We spent the 3rd of July at a friend’s place right next to Carols and Charlie’s marina(C&C). We were literally right next to the marina where C&C has a traditional pre-fourth of July fireworks. We hung out with friends from work, Lane and Rosie and Igor and Anna. And Cameron was so good and loved to be held by just about anyone who wanted to hold him.
On the 4th of July we spent the evening with Papa-T and Nee Nee at the top of my parking garage. We got to see a panoramic view of several fireworks displays and we didn’t have to battle traffic. It was perfect for Cameron’s first 4th of July.
4th of July Weekend!
We hope you all had as good a time as we did this year!!
